── the first ever
air-made yarn,
made in japan.

01.

about

To twist yarns, or yarns that have been twisted are called “nenshi (twisted yarn)” in Japanese. "super zero®︎", which received its world patent, is the fusion of the traditional nenshi method and cutting-edge technology.

Its uniqueness lies in its complex composition. First, the left twisted cotton yarns and water-soluble yarns are combined. This is then twisted again in the opposite direction, creating the “munenshi-zero-twist yarns”.  "super zero®︎" is the result of further twisting the “munenshi-zero-twist yarns” to the right, which is then treated with hot water. This process melts the water-soluble yarns and expands the cotton yarns, which allows airflow through the pockets, creating an airy and one-of-a-kind yarn composition.

It is light and gentle on the skin and easily absorbent. This unique technology can be applied to cotton and wool, silk, linen, and other yarns.

"super zero®︎" is a revolutionary new material, developed by using a vacuum steam press that we invented. We believe that this yarn has unlimited potential to take yarn-twisting technology to a new dimension.

sustainability

minimum environmental impact

エコフレンドリーな素材

The water-soluble yarn used for "super zero®︎", is made from long fibers with uniform thickness.  It is thinner and easier to dissolve in comparison to other water-soluble fibers, resulting in less environmental impact. It is also biodegradable.

minimum yarn, maximum functionality

少ない糸で最大限の機能を発揮

One of the key sources of "super zero®︎" is air. In comparison to traditional yarn types, this requires significantly fewer raw materials needed to produce. Moreover, this new yarn helps reduce the need for cotton, during this climate of a global cotton shortage. It is also highly durable and maintains its quality even after multiple washes. The longevity of this yarn ultimately prevents wasteful use of resources.

helping to reduce energy consumption

エネルギー消費量の抑制に貢献

"super zero®︎" is extremely quick drying, as the moisture in the air spaces between the yarns evaporates directly. This is highly impactful for larger organizations such as hotels, that use industrial dryers when washing towels. Simply switching the regular towels to "super zero®︎"made products can cut the daily energy consumption by half.

company

ASANO NENSHI Co., Ltd. was established in 1969 in Anpachi-Cho, Gifu Prefecture, Japan. The company specializes in twisted yarn (nenshi) production, towel manufacturing, and sales. Since its founding, the company has actively researched and developed innovative textile technology, such as stretchable and shrinkable fibers, twisted yarn compositions that allow free manipulation of chemical fibers, and more. In early 2000, many inexpensive overseas manufacturers started to flood the Japanese market, and ASANO NENSHI made it their mission to become a company with technology at its core. They began to research and development of twisted yarn (nenshi) in 2002, and after much trial and error, they invented the world's first specialized yarn-twisting method in 2007. The company developed "super zero®︎," a twisted yarn with excellent water absorbency, high durability, eco-friendly, and extremely quick drying.
